Reducing CO2 emissions in the construction sector requires the development of low-carbon concretes and increased use of secondary raw materials. This paper examines the long-term behaviour of concrete containing wood biomass ash (WBA), a by-product of biomass energy plants. Particular emphasis is given to mechanical properties, durability, and environmental impacts. Preliminary results indicate the potential for using WBA in cement composites and highlight the need for further systematic research on long-term properties and their influence on the design of reinforced concrete structures.
Smanjenje emisija CO2 u građevinskom sektoru zahtijeva razvoj niskougljičnih betona i veću primjenu sekundarnih sirovina. Rad istražuje dugotrajno ponašanje betona s dodatkom pepela drvne biomase (PDB), nusproizvoda energetskih postrojenja na biomasu. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na mehanička svojstva, trajnost i okolišne učinke. Preliminarni rezultati ukazuju na potencijal primjene PDB-a u cementnim kompozitima te potrebu daljnjeg sustavnog istraživanja dugotrajnih svojstava i njihova utjecaja na projektiranje armiranobetonskih konstrukcija.
