It is our pleasure to invite you to the 6th International Conference on Road and Rail Infrastructure (CETRA 2020*) that will be held on 20th - 21st May 2021 (postponed due to COVID-19).

Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, CETRA 2020* will be organized as an ONLINE event.



Speaker details and presentation preference


Dear author,

As you have been notified in previous announcements, CETRA 2020* will take place on 20-21 May 2021 in a new format - ONLINE.

For this reason, new formats for presenting your paper are now available. It is up to you to decide what is the most comfortable format of presentation, and we need to know your preferences in advance to prepare for the Conference.

Please use the provided Template for presentations when preparing your presentation for CETRA 2020*.

We also need to be informed on who will be a speaker (present the paper in front of a group of authors) to contact the speaker in advance and schedule a rehearsal.


Following presentation options are available for CETRA 2020*:

  • pre-recorded presentation - speaker pre-records his presentation in the foreseen time slot of 10 min and sends his presentation to Conference staff (speaker is still highly encouraged to participate in the live session and answer questions audience might have after his presentation),
  • live presentation - the speaker is invited to join a live session in foreseen time slot (Conference programme will be available very shortly on CETRA 2020 website).

For both options, conference staff will contact you to schedule a rehearsal slot to make you familiar with the system that you will use to present your paper and/or answer audience questions. Rehearsals will be scheduled in the week of the conference (17-19 May 2021).

Due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and concern to our participants health and wellbeing, CETRA 2020* will take place on 20-21 May 2021 in new format - ONLINE.

We will use an online platform called Whova for our event. In this platform, you will be able to join, both through web interface and through mobile app (Android or iOS) and:
  • follow live presentations and engage in discussion through chat and Q&A options in sessions
  • browse through agenda and list of attendees (speakers, participants, sponsors)
  • chat and engage with other participants and speakers
  • browse through virtual exhibition of our sponsors and get valuable first hand info on their products
  • receive updates such as last minute session changes from the organizers.
Participants from CETRA 2018 and 2016 are already familiar with Whova as we have used it as a mobile companion app for on-site conference.  

We believe that technology and our joint enthusiasm (of both participants and organizers) can create a pleasant environment for a successful CETRA2020*.

Full paper deadline extended to 10 March 2021


We would like to inform you that the deadline for CETRA 2020* full paper submission, due to numerous requests, is extended. In this way, we would like to oblige all of the authors whose research has been interrupted due to a global pandemic.

The new deadline for full paper submission is 10th of March 2021. We strongly hope that this new deadline will give you enough time to complete your investigations and submit your full paper.

After full paper submission, a double-blind review process of your full paper will be performed by the members of CETRA 2020* Scientific Committee and you will get feedback on your work and a decision letter. The accepted full paper will be published in Conference proceedings.

CETRA 2020* further postponed to May 2021


Due to the circumstances arising from the ongoing spread of COVID-19 - the continuing danger it still poses to public health and safety, together with the increased imposition of travel restrictions - CETRA 2020 Organizing Committee has decided to further postpone the Conference. We held on for as long as we could wishing that things would return to some semblance of normality. However, it’s now clear that our Conference must be put back to next year. This was a very difficult decision, but, after consulting with numerous participants from all around the globe, we believe that it is the most responsible one.

We were very optimistic, hoping that the situation with COVID-19 will be much better in October, trying our best to organize CETRA 2020 and to bring our professional and scientific community together one more time. Regarding the number and quality of abstracts, auspices and sponsorships received, CETRA 2020 was on track to be one of our best CETRA conferences. However, the safety of the participants is our priority, and we have decided it would be prudent to postpone the CETRA 2020 Conference for the spring of 2021. At the same time, postponing the Conference for the next year provides the members of our Committees valuable time to completely dedicate themselves to the determination of damage caused by the disastrous earthquake that hit Zagreb in March.

The CETRA 2020 Conference will take place on the 20th and 21st of May 2021 at the same venue, Hotel Park Plaza Histria Pula, Croatia. As you can see, we have decided to keep the 2020 in the Conference name, not only to ensure the minimal visual intrusion and retain the virtual recognition of our event, but also to honor the people confronting this years’ many challenges. With the new CETRA Conference date, new deadlines for abstract and full paper submission are written in right column of the website.

For the authors that have already submitted their full paper or abstract:

Papers submitted for the CETRA are currently in the review process and authors will get feedback on their work and a decision letter as soon as possible.

If you have submitted your abstract, but not yet full paper, there is still plenty of time to do it. For the abstracts that are submitted and accepted for the conference, deadline for the full paper submission is by the 20th of February 2021.

We hope that this information reaches you in time to plan your agenda for the rest of the year. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding in these turbulent times and are looking forward to seeing you again.
