When moving armed forces as part of combat operations, it is important to assess the cross-country passability and mobility of military vehicles. Factors for their assessment are the field conditions, the tactical-technological and dynamic characteristics of the vehicle. Determining the cross-country passability enables an insight into the limitations of vehicle mobility and the creation of assumptions about the possible directions of movement of one’s own and opposing forces. Several models have been developed to assess cross-country mobility. In this paper, the application of Geographic Information System (GIS) in determining the terrain passability is presented and the NATO Reference Mobility Model (NRMM and NG-NRMM) is described.
Pri premještanju oružanih snaga u sklopu borbenih operacija važno je procijeniti terensku prohodnost i pokretljivost vojnih vozila. Pritom su čimbenici za njihovu procjenu stanje na terenu, taktičko-tehnološke i vozno-dinamičke karakteristike vozila. Utvrđivanje terenske prohodnosti omogućava uvid u ograničenja pokretljivosti vozila i stvaranje pretpostavki o mogućim smjerovima kretanja vlastitih i protivničkih snaga. U ovom radu prikazana je primjena geografskog informacijskog sustava (GIS) u određivanju prohodnosti terena i opisan NATO Model procjene pokretljivosti vozila (NRMM i NG-NRMM).
