The durability of fibers in a cement matrix is defined by their resistance to an alkaline environment. To determine the durability properties of waste fibers in cement composites, the fibers are subjected to various tests to determine their chemical stability, as well as changes in geometric and mechanical properties after exposure to an alkaline environment. The paper presents a systematic review of the literature in the field of durability of glass, basalt, carbon and recycled tire polymer fibers. An overview of the most commonly used alkaline solutions, test conditions, and test duration is provided, and corrosion mechanisms for each fiber type are defined from the available literature. Based on the research conducted, it was concluded that there is a lack of standardized tests to define the resistance of fibers in an alkaline environment, but also based on tests to predict the service life of cement composites.
Trajnost vlakana u cementnoj matrici definirana je njihovom otpornošću alkalnom okolišu. Kako bi utvrdili svojstva trajnosti otpadnih vlakana u cementnim kompozitima vlakna se podvrgavaju različitim ispitivanjima u cilju utvrđivanja njihove kemijske stabilnosti, ali i promjene geometrijskih i mehaničkih svojstava nakon izlaganja alkalnom okolišu. U radu je prikazan sustavan pregled literature iz područja trajnosti staklenih, bazaltnih, ugljičnih vlakana i polimernih vlakana iz recikliranih otpadnih guma. Dan je pregled najčešće korištenih alkalnih otopina, uvjeti i trajanje ispitivanja, definirani su mehanizmi korozije za svaku vrstu vlakana iz dostupne literature. Na osnovi danih istraživanja zaključeno je da postoji nedostatak normiranih ispitivanja u cilju definiranja otpornosti vlakana u alkalnom okolišu, ali i temeljem provedenih ispitivanja predviđanja uporabnog vijeka u cementnim kompozitima.
